Italy is one of European countries most affected by the phenomenon of migration and, within the Italian landscape, Emilia Romagna region is one of the most attractive region (immigrants represents the 12.1% of the total population compared to the national average of 8,2%).
With the new “Patto per il Lavoro” (Employment Pact), Emilia Romagna Region (Regione Emilia-Romagna) put the employment and the working inclusion at the center of its policies and government action. The aim is to tend to a new develop for a new social cohesion passing as well through social inclusion and intercultural within schools, work and social policies. In the next years, furthermore, demographic growth will be fueled even less by migration flows coming from abroad but even more by second generation foreigners born in Emilia Romagna Region (or in any case in Italy). The focus must be hence put on education, training and employment, fundamental aspects related to the sense of social identity and human sources enhancement.
The General Directorate “Economy of knowledge, employment and enterprise” is the authority competent for the management of programmes Fondo Europeo di Sviluppo Regionale (European funds for regional develop – Fesr) e Fondo Sociale Europeo (European Social Fund – Fse). Among its tasks it manages the planning, coordination and regional policies related to education, training, employment and knowledge.
